What We Collect
We collect minimal data, only what is necessary to provide the service. Email address: if you subscribe to rate alerts, we store your email address and the currency pair you want to track. We use this solely to send you the alerts you requested. Analytics data: we use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog records page views, button clicks, feature usage, and general browsing patterns. This data is pseudonymous — it uses a randomly generated user ID, not your name or email. Affiliate click tracking: when you click an affiliate link to a forex provider, we record which link was clicked and an approximate timestamp. This helps us understand which providers are useful to our users and manage our affiliate relationships. We do not record which individual clicked the link.
What We Don't Collect
We do not collect account credentials, payment information, or any financial data from you. We do not require you to create an account to use TrueForex — the calculator and comparison tools are fully available without registration. We do not collect your phone number, address, or any government identification. We do not track your transactions with forex providers — when you click through to a provider, you are on their website and subject to their privacy policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party, including our affiliate partners. Rate alert subscribers receive emails from TrueForex only — no third-party marketing.
Cookies
TrueForex uses one category of cookies: analytics cookies from PostHog. These cookies are used to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are most popular, where users drop off, which features are most useful. PostHog cookies are first-party (set by trueforex.in, not a third-party domain) and do not track you across other websites. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party advertising cookies. We do not serve personalised advertisements on TrueForex. Our affiliate links take you to provider websites, but we do not place their tracking pixels on our pages.
Data Retention
Email addresses for rate alerts are retained until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, your email is deleted from our database within 24 hours. Analytics data (PostHog) is retained for 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted per PostHog's data retention policy. Affiliate click logs are retained for 90 days for accounting purposes, then permanently deleted. We do not archive or backup deleted data beyond standard disaster recovery windows (30 days).
Your Rights
You can unsubscribe from rate alerts at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any alert email — no login required. To request deletion of any data we hold about you, email us at privacy@trueforex.in with the subject line 'Data Deletion Request' and the email address associated with your alerts. We will confirm deletion within 7 business days. To opt out of PostHog analytics, you can use your browser's Do Not Track setting or a privacy browser extension. We respect Do Not Track headers.
